To earn the Spartan Trifecta™, new and returning athletes must finish three of our signature obstacle races in a single race season, typically a 12 month period.*

Trifecta Races:

  • Spartan Sprint® — 5k, 20 obstacles OR Spartan Stadion® — 5k, 20 obstacles
  • Spartan Super® — 10k, 25 obstacles
  • Spartan Beast® — 21k, 30 obstacles OR Spartan Ultra® — 50k, 60 obstacles

*Due to COVID-19, we’ve extended the current Trifecta race season to span November 4, 2019 to November 7, 2021.

At the finish line of each race, every athlete receives a finisher medal and a magnetic Trifecta Wedge. Hold onto these because when you finish your third Trifecta race, your three wedges will snap together to create the baddest medal in OCR.

You’ll also unlock a world of Trifecta commemorative gear, displays and more.

Earn a Trifecta in one weekend at destination venues worldwide during popular Trifecta Weekends. At these weekend-long adventures, you’ll feed off the community energy of your fellow unbreakable athletes as you push your limits and achieve more than you thought to be possible.

Spartan Trifecta Shield Weekends are culturally immersive, bucket list versions of Trifecta weekends - hosted at epic venues around the world. Participating athletes will receive limited edition, collectible medals and merch that feature icons significant to the historical civilizations of the location and ancient Greece.

The euphoria of completing your first Trifecta can only be matched by competing in the Trifecta World Championship held each November on the hallowed grounds of Sparta, Greece. Completing a Trifecta qualifies you for the next Trifecta World Championship.

A small, but growing group of Spartans are dedicated to not only finding their limits, but shattering them. These battle-hardened athletes strive to earn multiple Trifectas in a single year, with some earning three, five and even 20. Coveted multi-Trifecta medals and more await those who achieve this feat.

To earn a Trifecta, you must finish a Sprint or Stadion, Super, and Beast or Ultra in any order. You may also complete these races anywhere in the world. However, remember that you must finish all three races on or before November 7th, 2021. The current Trifecta year began on November 4, 2019 and runs to November 7, 2021 - if you do three eligible races within that period, you earn one Trifecta. Multiple Trifectas are possible and come with unique medal rewards.

Absolutely, in fact it’s what will bring your mental and physical game to the next level. You do not need a Trifecta Pass to earn the Spartan Trifecta, though it’s encouraged as it’s a great way to set a goal and stick to it. You can purchase one here. Another worthy goal is to complete the rarer forms of Trifectas, such as Stadion, Super Beast or even Stadion, Super, Ultra. There’s special swag for 2x Trifecta earners and onwards, and in 2021 new Trifecta Shield Weekends will award unique medals and other collectables.

To earn a spot at the Trifecta World Championship in Sparta, you need to earn a Trifecta first. The qualification period for each Trifecta World Championship is an annual cycle that runs from one event to the next. In other words, to qualify for the 2021 Trifecta World Championship, you must earn a Trifecta from the Monday after the 2020 event to the Friday before the 2021 event. In that way, the qualifying period for the “TWC” differs from the Trifecta year, which is tied to the calendar year. Note that this system is new for the 2020/2021 season.
